The second son of Lord Shiva. Subramanya holds a spear in his hand while riding a peacock as a mode of transportation. The peacock grabs a snake with its feet. The form of Subramanya highlights the individuality, ego and how to use the ego to gain God-realisation. By studying and practicing the philosophical lesson contained in the symbolism of Lord Subramanya one not only gradually evolves to higher levels of development but ultimately fulfills one’s mission in life, that is to discover the Self within.
