Vedanta is a knowledge of life and living. The original texts in which this knowledge is contained are called the Vedas, Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita. However these text may be difficult to understand directly. Additionally, one may need an understanding of the fundamental concepts of life and living beforehand. The Vedanta syllabus serves this purpose. A systematic, methodical course of study guiding one from basic principles to higher truths of life. The 4 week program will outline the literature authored and commented on by Swami Parthasarathy. These books are the literature that will be used in the weekly classes. The program will commence with an explanation of Vedanta followed by three sessions providing a summary of each of the books and concluding with an orientation.

Session 1: Vedanta for Life and Living

How does one relate to the world?

How do we handle the challenges of life?

Is it possible to enjoy success, peace and harmony?

How do we make the right choices in life?

What is the meaning and purpose of life?

Who am I?

These are some of the questions that Vedanta answers. Vedanta is a complete philosophy that gives you the technique to experience productivity in action, calmness of mind and clarity of thought. Ultimately, Vedanta ushers you to fulfill your mission in life, to realise your supreme Self within.
